The Yoga Foundation series is for students new to yoga or for students that would like a deeper understanding of the alignment principles to enhance their individual practice. This six-week series will focus on 14 standing poses. These poses are strategically placed to enhance your understanding of the individual pose as well as prepare you for poses that follow. Each lesson has been designed to increase your strength, flexibility and balance as the workshop progresses.
While all classes at Essence Yoga studio instruct students on the proper alignment of the poses taught, this class will allow the instructor to spend additional time with the students. This series will have a classroom type setting where the poses are shown first with verbal instructions. The students can then ask questions to help them receive a deeper understanding of each pose taught in this series before, during or after they try the pose themself.
Props, such as straps & blocks, will be available to use during this course so that all students will have the ability to complete the poses no matter what their individual flexibility level may be.
